Just in case we forget how lucky we are...

... to live where we do, this picture was taken less than a mile from our house (although we haven't quite got such a nice view from here, sadly!).

Love & best wishes to all

  1. Hi there, Sammy

Many thanks for the picture: it reminds me very much of the Helford River area, where I grew up, and is bringing back many memories from that time. It truly is a lovely part of the world.

I really ought to go out and take some pictures of Cambridge in the sunshine. It's looking particularly pretty at the moment with the spring flowers out.

    Take care

  2. Hi there, Sammy

Many thanks for following me, and your implied vote of confidence that I will at some time get round to posting something on my own blog. I don't think there are many bloggers who still haven't started almost two months after joining - I just find it much easier, and more interesting, to wander around blog-land and comment on others' blogs, than to write a post for my own, especially that scary first post.

    Take care

  3. Hello Mark
I'm glad you liked the picture - we live somewhat further east than your old home, but having places like that estuary almost literally on your doorstep is a real blessing.
As far as your blog goes, and judging by what you've written as comments on mine and other blogs, I'm sure that as and when the inspiration takes you, what you have to say will be worth reading. I like your profile comment about travelling for the pleasure of the journey as much as the destination. I've done plenty of that myself - in fact, one of the first times I ever came to Cornwall was at the end of a road trip when I decided on a whim to drive the whole length of the A38 one weekend!

  4. Beautiful pic :) I also live near a lake with a river that flows into it. I *heart* lakes and rivers.

  5. Hello Andy ( I hope calling you Andy is OK)
Our local beauty spot is a tidal river estuary - as the crow flies we only live about 2-3 miles from the sea - although if I'd turned and taken the picture looking the other way it would've showed the outskirts of our local ' big city ' - at least, big by UK standards! Glad you liked the picture.

    Love & best wishes
