I've just noticed that my local now sells Cornish Orchards cider. I bloody hate seeing it behind a bar, because it's made about three miles from where we lived when we first moved to Cornwall. And it always makes me horribly homesick.

I do so love Cornish Rattler! The first time I tried it, I was in the Angarrack Inn with DN. The landlord warned that it was "bloody strong stuff". I just laughed and said "I'm not driving, a pint, please!" I was hooked. He was nice enough to give me a Cornish Rattler bar glass. I contacted the company to see if they export to the US, but unfortunately, they aren't big enough to handle that (yet, I hope).

Hello Jay
ReplyDeleteIronically, I almost never drink cider, because, while I like it well enough, it doesn't like me very much - I tend to get rotten headaches on only a couple of pints. And heartaches when I'm reminded of the prize I won - I.e. living in Cornwall - and then lost.
