I've seen many prejudiced, bigoted, self-serving, illogical and downright stupid arguments against marriage equality over the years, but I don't believe I've ever seen one as imbecilic as this. Mind you, given who said it, I probably shouldn't be surprised.

DeleteBut you can bet there are other theocrats just like him ready to step into his shoes, on both sides of the water. It would only take one of these fanatics to gain a position of substantial power, and the world would be a much more unpleasant place, and not just in terms of who would be allowed to marry who.
