Contact

I finally had some contact from K this afternoon, an e-mail telling me what she'd been up to during her first couple of days in America. She seems to be having a fun time, which, of course, is good, but, from my perspective, I'm just happy that she's safe and well - my reaction to the transatlantic silence was starting to move from disappointment that she hadn't been in touch to concern that something had actually gone wrong, especially given my propensity towards pessimism. I don't want her to think I'm treating her like a child, but I can't help worrying about her welfare, particularly when she's in a place where there's no chance that I could help her, certainly in a direct way. Hopefully now that we've reconnected, there will be some more regular updates.

Love & best wishes to all

  1. Certainly she must be aware that you have many acquaintances on this side of the pond, who can be invaluable sources of information?

That should be sufficient reason for her to keep in touch, no?

    1. Hello Andy
Yes. K has got contact information, in case of emergency or unforeseen happenings. It's still reassuring for me to have confirmation that she's OK, from the horse's mouth, as it were.

  2. May have been the first time she found working wi-fi. It's not as extensive here as there. Even sometimes when it says "free wi-fi", it's not working at all.

Glad you heard from her! And Andy is right, any of us would help in a heartbeat!

    Peace <3

    1. Hello Jay
I'm certainly pleased to have heard from K, my imagination was starting to get a bit out of control! And the knowledge that there are friends who know the 'system' and would be kind enough to help is a gratefully received reassurance.

      Love & best wishes
