Nothing I can say

That I haven't said umpteen times before. And nothing I can say that would change the mind of even one person. That's why it's so frustrating, so often. Not only are you vilified for being yourself, for what you are even if what you do 'toes the line', but even stating an opinion contrary to that of the majority is likely to bring down truckloads of opprobrium. Everyone is supposed to believe, or at least outwardly espouse, the 'conventional wisdom'. It's the societal manifestation of the old joke - 'Eat shit, billions of flies can't be wrong'. And every bit as nauseating, as far as I'm concerned.

  1. The prospect of a lifetime without love, or companionship. Without ever experiencing the closeness of another human being. Never being allowed to share an intimacy with someone you deeply care about, someone who perhaps wants to be there and share those joys with you. Someone who might be as lonely as you. Someone who needs love as much as you do. Someone who's life would be enriched by what we might have to offer.

The hunger, the longing. The pain that must be endured through every waking moment. The indigity of living a life in the shadows. The fear. The hiding away. The silence. The torture. The utter futilty of life itself.

Would anyone choose this path ? I'm certain they wouldn't.

Would anyone swap places ? Never in a million years.

Would "they" live like this ? No, of course not. But they expect us to.

The "great and the good" can talk their heads off, all they want about equality, about human rights. I have but one question for them: What about US ?

    Warmest regards - Dave

    1. Hello Dave
I agree with every word, of course. But, in answer to the questiion in your last sentence, and to 'borrow' an Orwellism, we are 'unpersons'.
