Much less portentous than Caesar's 'ides', but significant, nonetheless. After a visit to the estate agents at lunchtime, it looks like all is on course for taking on the flat from March 1. And, after a phone call to my brother this evening, given that I'll need his help on the transportation front, it looks likely that I'll actually be able to move in that weekend, all being well. It all seems more real now, the prospect of dropping the word 'domicile' from my vocabulary, and being able to say 'home' instead. It's certainly a change of nomenclature that I'm looking forward to.

Oh Sammy. I can't tell you how happy this makes me. I've always understood your nomenclature about your living conditions. This is great. This is wonderful. And K will be there EVERY DAY - except when she jets off (trains off?) to visit her gorgeous boyfriend!

Hello Jay
DeleteThere's a simple reason I've never called my present accommodation 'home' - because it isn't, in any way that matters to me. In just over two weeks, though, unless any last minute hiccups intervene, I will be in a place that will be a proper home again. And K's presence, once she actually gets there in the summer, will be the final piece in that jigsaw.
