I've just found, through the comments on a blog I've followed for a while, what looks like a fun website. Not unique, I'm sure, but what I've read so far certainly appeals to my sense of humour (yes, I do have one, albeit that it sometimes get lost under piles of angst and obsessive navel-gazing!). I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes a regular stopping off point on my cyberspace meanderings.

ReplyDeleteMixed day...Got up early (proud of myself for this), out weed-eating at 9:30AM! Came in at 10:30 to fix breakfast, heard something that sounded like gravel against my front door. Not gravel, just the glass from the storm door - another f-ing rock. Have to dig out the shop vac for the first time in (can you guess?)............11 years...and suck up all the broken glass. Neighbor comes over, takes out the ruined door (it was more than just the glass, the frame was screwed up, hadn't hung straight in...11 years). Offered to install a new one cheap. YAY for cool neighbors. Came in from all that excitement to find a dead phone, and the forgotten 11AM date to help install the new IRLP node at the repeater site. It's 1PM. I call, they're still there. So I go over. Takes 3.5 more hours to get it going. Here's a joke: When do you know when anyone who says "Oh, it's Plug-and-Play" is lying? ANYTIME THEY OPEN THEIR MOUTH!!! I sorta saved the day - apparently Comcast has changed DNS server IP addresses, so I decided to use Verizon's...DNS issue solved and the node is now working on the UHF (442.55MHz, CTCSS 74.4Hz, IRLP Node 4995). I also figured out how to stop it sending its own Morse Code IDs (our controllers do that, no need to repeat the process). So I DID NOT get the pictures I took Tuesday night, Wednesday night, and Friday morning processed for delivery. I did NOT get the NSS Video Salon critiques written that are due this weekend. I did NOT get any laundry done (hmmmm, I could go downstairs and start a load....hmmm....). But I did decompress with wings and bourbon (Evan Williams Black Label) for dinner, and am now IN THE ZONE! HAHAHAHA Hope all you Facebookers had a MUCH better day!!!!!
