DJ's gone. Maybe it's because I've been up for over 24 hours, and I'm being selfish, but the only thing I can say at the moment is that I'm absolutely gutted.

DJ's not gone, just his blog for now. He's just got more important things to deal with now apparently than his blog. I feel certain he will show back up when he again has time for it. We will all miss reading what he has to say and enjoying his art and music.
Hello Brian As I said, it's just me being selfish - DJ has the perfect right to do whatever he wants with regard to his blog. That doesn't mean I have to like it, though.
Try not to feel so sad, Sammy... I know it's difficult to see these guys close down. It seems like we get attached to these kids as if they were related and feel good when they succeed and horrible when they leave... Kind of like any friend you want the best for. You feel really sad if they decide to pursue a job opportunity somewhere, far from us... It leaves a void. Especially if it's not anticipated.
Of course, sometimes the jobs don't pan out and they come back. Sometimes, most times in fact, the void is filled by other friends and new opportunity.
Is it ever the same again? No... Such is life, I guess.
In the meantime, we grieve. Loss of a friend is difficult.
Try to be happy for DJ, Sammy... Good things are happening for him, and he seems excited... He deserves to be happy and have those things work, finally, in his young life. And, like Brian said, he did express an interest in returning if he could... Blogging is in his blood, just like it is in ours... love, tman<3
Hello Tony I hope you're right in saying that good things are happening for DJ - one of his defining characteristics as a blogger has been to play down his own problems while showing concern for everyone else. I totally agree with you that he deserves happiness, with all that he's gone through. As for me, I'm just feeling sorry for myself, I guess, and coming across your post after I finished work this morning hasn't helped in that regard. You've read enough of my blog, and you were more than involved in last summer's dramas, to know that, to me, DJ isn't just another blogger who's decided to leave. It's no fault of his, I've just got too attached, and I'll have to deal with it. Better than I am at the moment, I hope.
