What's happening?

Strange days in blogland. After yesterday's situation with DJ and his blog, it now appears that JJ's blog has been deleted as well. Has anyone out there got any idea what is going on? Not, I suppose, that any of it's any of my business, but it all seems very odd.

Love & best wishes to all

  1. Hi there, Sammy

Odd, indeed; as I was told shortly after arriving, "strange things happen in blog-land". I'm not going to speculate as to the causes here, but it does sadden and frustrate me that there are people out there hurting, and I'm pretty much unable to help. I take some consolation from the fact that JJ and DJ have a reasonable support network, both on the Net and in the real world. I just hope they're using it.

    Take care

    Mark

  2. It's all a mystery to me, Sammy. I wish I knew what is going on.

  3. Hello Mark and Brian
I have got a wild theory, and 'wild' is the operative word. It may be totally and utterly wrong, so I'm saying no more at present, but it has given me the idea for another story, which I'm working on at the moment.

  4. Is your "wild theory" something along the lines of JJ being bogus?

  5. Hello
Yes, but I sincerely hope that I'm as wrong as I could be, because a lot of people are going to be hurt if I'm right.

  6. Hello Lightning
I saw the post you've linked, but it's subsequently been deleted - the twists and turns of this affair are becoming positively Kafkaesque. But you're right, I would have much preferred to have been dead wrong in this instance.

  7. Sammy,
You are either going to educate me or wear me out. I keep having to jump to Wikipedia to understand what you are saying. Kafkaesque?? Do normal people really use words like this? I'm just a dumb southern boy, we don't usually use words like this.

This blog world is just getting too wild. I can't keep up. I had just finished reading all the comments on that blog post. When I refreshed the page the whole post was gone. At least the blog itself is still there, for now. I sure wish I knew what was happening! It's too wild for me.

Did you change the way your blog works? The method of adding comments seems to have changed.

    Regards,
    Brian

  8. Hello Brian
My vocabulary, I can assure you, is not meant to confuse or belittle anyone, but if I know the meaning and usage of a word that best fits what I want to express, then I'll use it - I consider anything else to be patronising towards my readers.
The deleted post on Gabe's blog, I'm hoping, has disappeared because he did say that he was afraid DJ would be upset by what he'd written, so it could have simply been a matter of consideration on Gabe's part. I think a lot of us would like to know the full story behind this sorry tale, but whether that will ever happen is, I suspect, doubtful at best.
The change of comment format for my blog is a temporary thing so that I can reply to comments when I'm using mobile broadband, as I do when I'm at work - for some reason, probably the fact that the mobile broadband doesn't have a fixed IP address, I can't post comments to many blogs, including my own, unless they utilise this 'Pop-up' format. Normal service will be resumed shortly.

    Love & best wishes
